I have really enjoyed learning amigurumi – creating three-dimensional textiles with just a hook! You could definitely use the technique to create something more formal but at the moment it’s good for creating fun birthday presents.
My little sister got married this summer – I created these two little characters using amigurumi techniques. They finished off the cake nicely.
It’s fun to go back to two-dimensional work every now and then. Here are two poster copies i made for the school musical – I’ve discovered a new love for coloured pencils, the blended tones and three-dimentional effects you can create are brilliant to create.
Some shots of my work when it was at a show recently!
I’m a textile artist and teacher based in the UK. Over the last ten years I have been developing and inventing textiles using weaving, plaiting, knotting and manipulating fabrics and threads to create textile pieces and fabrics that are innovative and exciting.
I hope you enjoy the examples of my work here, and spend a little time in the art galleries which show my work.
